TRIP TO TRAP POND

MAY 7, 2026
TRIP TO TRAP POND STATE P ARK
PROGRAM: Located just a short drive from Millsboro, Trap Pond State Park is home to the northern most natural stand of bald cypress trees in the United States. The visit
includes two guided experiences led by park staff: a pontoon boat ride around the pond to observe the native flora and fauna, including the striking cypress trees, and a wagon ride (wooden bench seating) along a different shoreline area—one that’s typically reserved exclusively for Boy Scout camping. Members will be divided into two groups, with each group enjoying one activity before switching to the other. Members are encouraged to explore the park’s Nature Center, which offers interesting exhibits about the local ecosystem. As there is no on-site food service, members should bring a picnic lunch to enjoy the park’s peaceful surroundings. This is a wonderful opportunity to experience one of Delaware’s natural treasures!
